Just call me 'Baiano'...
But not only because I was born in Bahia.
'Baianos' are people full of good vibes. No wonder: it’s always summer, and the beaches are incredible. 🤷🏾♂️
However, it's far from perfect. Money is tight. People there do whatever it takes. That’s where I learned to work hard and to never stop learning.
Like we say back home: 'cochilou, o cachimbo cai' (something like 'you snooze, you lose').
Back then, it was rare to see people from Bahia working in top companies. I had a huge impostor syndrome which made me often wonder if I truly belonged.
But effort and passion took me places I never imagined:
I landed a dream job at Globo (seriously, that was my ultimate goal when I was just a young designer back in my hometown).
Later, I joined Work&Co's dream team, and it was a mind-blowing experience. I was pushed to break my limits and deliver the best in every project.
Nowadays, I'm one of the designers at Nubank, one of the biggest and most loved fintechs in the world.
This is just a small piece of what that word carries.
So, I insist. Call me 'Baiano'.
